About the Artist
My name is Natalia Trepczyk-Domaradzka and I am an artist and printmaker based in Gdynia, a beautiful city by the sea in Poland. I graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, where I first developed my passion for printmaking and visual storytelling. My current focus is on creating intricate linocut prints that combine bold designs with subtle details, aiming to evoke emotion and spark curiosity in those who view them.
Why Linocut?
For me, linocut is more than just a printmaking technique—it’s a way to explore contrasts, textures, and narratives. The process of carving, inking, and pressing each print is meditative, allowing me to connect deeply with the art I create. I’m drawn to the tactile nature of the medium and its ability to transform a simple block of linoleum into a piece that feels alive with meaning. Each of my prints is the result of a thoughtful and deliberate process. From initial sketches to the final pull on the press, every step involves careful consideration and a personal touch. The imperfections and textures that arise naturally in linocut make each print unique, which I believe is the true beauty of handmade art.
My Inspiration
My work is inspired by storytelling, symbolism, and the beauty of everyday life. I find influence in nature, Gothic atmospheres, and cultural narratives, which often weave their way into my prints. Whether it’s a mysterious figure surrounded by intricate patterns or a quiet moment captured in ink, my goal is to create art that resonates on an emotional level.
What I Do Now
In my home studio, I continue to explore the endless possibilities of printmaking. My current projects include both small, detailed pieces and larger, multi-layered reduction prints. I’m passionate about sharing the process behind my work through videos and blog posts, inviting others into the world of printmaking. My art is not just about creating prints—it’s about connecting with others who appreciate the beauty of handcrafted work and the stories that unfold within each piece. Through linocut, I strive to bring something timeless and meaningful into the modern world.
